What It Is

A titanium root, a tooth for life.

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is surgically placed in the jaw bone to replace the root of a missing tooth. A porcelain or zirconia crown is then attached to it — looking and functioning like a natural tooth.

Unlike bridges, implants do not need neighboring teeth for support — we never grind down healthy teeth. Unlike removable dentures, they remain firmly in place and stimulate the bone the way a natural root does, preventing bone resorption.

Benefits

Why implants.

Stability

Function 100% like a natural tooth. Eat, speak and smile with full confidence.

Lifetime Durability

With proper care, an implant lasts for decades — usually for life.

Bone Preservation

The implant stimulates the bone like a natural root, preventing the gradual bone loss that follows tooth loss.

Aesthetics

Zirconia crowns with accurate color and translucency match — indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Neighboring Teeth Preserved

Unlike a bridge, there is no need to grind down healthy adjacent teeth for support.

Digital Precision

CBCT-based planning with a surgical guide — sub-millimeter accuracy during placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about implants.

How much does an implant cost?

At our practice, the implant itself starts at €800 and the crown at €400. Total cost depends on the clinical picture and the need for additional procedures (CBCT, bone grafting, sinus lift). We always provide a written treatment plan before any work begins.

Which implant brand do you use?

We use exclusively Straumann (Switzerland) and Nobel Biocare (Sweden) — the world's two most clinically documented implant systems, both with lifetime manufacturer guarantees. We never use generic low-cost systems that may seem economical initially but have no long-term parts availability.

How long does the procedure take overall?

The surgical placement takes 30-60 minutes per implant. A 3 to 6 month osseointegration period follows before the final crown is fitted. In selected cases (sufficient bone, good primary stability) immediate loading is possible — a temporary crown the same day.

Does it hurt?

The procedure itself is performed under local anesthesia and is practically painless. Most patients say it is easier than a tooth extraction. See our detailed article: Does dental implant surgery actually hurt?

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer interest-free payment plans over 6, 12 or 24 installments for total treatment above €1,000. We also partner with banks for dedicated dental loans at favorable rates.

How long does an implant last?

With proper oral hygiene and regular check-ups every 6 months, a premium implant lasts a lifetime. The zirconia crown typically lasts 15-20 years before needing replacement.

Am I a candidate for implants?

Most adults are. Factors we evaluate: sufficient bone (assessed by CBCT), oral health, chronic conditions (e.g. uncontrolled diabetes), smoking, age. In patients with insufficient bone, bone grafting or sinus lift usually makes placement possible.
